ABOUT ME
Fashion Forward
Hi, I’m Sara — a Technical Designer based in the Seattle, WA area with a passion for turning ideas into well-crafted, wearable product. I earned my B.S. in Apparel, Merchandising, Design, and Textiles from Washington State University, where I built the foundation for my love of product creation, problem-solving, and thoughtful design.
I’m currently an Associate Technical Designer at Nordstrom, where I support the development of women’s and kids’ apparel across categories including dresses, outerwear, sportswear, sweaters, and more. My work centers on fit, construction, and product integrity—ensuring that each style not only meets design intent but exceeds expectations in quality and wearability. I am proficient in many programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Browzwear, and other industry related programs.
I thrive in the details, love collaborating cross-functionally, and am driven by creating product that feels great, functions beautifully, and makes people feel confident. Whether I’m leading a fit session, refining specs, or partnering with vendors, I bring curiosity, intention, and a commitment to continuous improvement to everything I do.
Outside of work, I’m always exploring color, materials, and new ideas—fueling both my growth as a designer and my passion for creating meaningful product.
APPAREL DESIGN
ASYMMETRICAL TULLE BALLGOWN
8 Layer Tulle Dress with a Netted Bodice
Inspired by the unique and outlandish costume design in Disney's Cruella, this dress personifies the eccentric and edgy side of society. Meant to challenge the standard idea of elegance, this dress allows for personality to shine through and show off that the unordinary can be extraordinary!

STARLET
Draped Met Gala Gown
Meant to walk the runway at a Met Gala, this gown is made purely of high quality velvet. Inspired by the starlet Audrey Hepburn, this gown includes an elegant cowl back and a removable draped arm accessory. Including a train approximately three feet long with a hand stitched hem, this gown is the personification of elegance and class.

SPREZZATURA
Senior Capstone - 2020
Sprezzatura means Effortless Elegance in Italian. This theme was influenced by my time abroad in Florence, Italy. I draw inspiration from the colors of Florentine cobblestone and unique landscape of the city’s skyline, then combine them with hard style lines inspired by my idol, Coco Chanel. I incorporate a great deal of my own artistic qualities including turning my photography into unique embroidery and painting Italian skylines on my designs.
